Unlocking the Power of Twitter/X: A Power User Guide
Master hidden features of X to create more engaging, professional, and interactive content.
In this guide, I'll reveal the top Twitter/X tools and "hacks" that have transformed how I craft engaging content. These strategies have been game-changers for managing the @KZG_AU brand account and my personal account @mynameistito.
Whether you're looking to spice up your timeline or streamline your professional workflow, these three techniques will give you a competitive edge.

1. Embedding Videos in Tweets
Ever wonder how some accounts post a video from another tweet without "retweeting" it, making it look like native content? This adds a clean, professional touch to your posts.
How to do it:
-
Locate the Source Video: Find the video you want to share. For example, let's use this post from @ShouldHaveCat.
-
Copy the Link: Copy the URL of the tweet. It should look like this:
https://x.com/ShouldHaveCat/status/1724513823816597824 -
Modify the URL: Append
/video/1to the very end of the link.Modified Link:
https://x.com/ShouldHaveCat/status/1724513823816597824/video/1 -
Post: Paste that modified URL into your new tweet. When you publish, the video will appear as a native embed, credited to the original creator in the bottom corner.
2. Hyperlinking with Custom Images
Note: This feature requires an X Premium subscription.
A special thanks to Jason (@hateyourfriends) for demonstrating this! By using the X Ads platform, you can create "Website Cards"—clickable images that act as massive buttons for your links.
The Workflow
- Access the Ads Platform: Navigate to ads.x.com.
- Select "Simple" Campaign: You don't actually need to spend money or launch the campaign; we are just using the composer.
- Navigate to Composer: Go to the Creatives tab in the top menu and select Composer.
- Configure Your Card:
- Destination: Select "Website."
- Media: Upload a custom 1.91 aspect ratio image (this is what people will click).
- Headline: Write a catchy title that appears below the image.
- Draft and Post: Once satisfied, you can post this "Ad" organically to your timeline. It will appear as a beautiful, full-width clickable image.

3. Utilizing X Media Studio
X Media Studio is a powerful, often overlooked dashboard for managing your media library and adding professional metadata to your videos.
Key Features
- Call-to-Action (CTA): You can add "Visit Site" buttons directly onto your video players.
- Custom Thumbnails: Upload high-quality covers for your videos rather than letting X pick a random frame.
- Titles & Descriptions: Add SEO-friendly metadata to your media.
How to use it
- Visit the Studio: Log in at studio.x.com.
- Upload Your Media: Drag and drop your videos or images into the library.
- Edit Metadata: Click on a video to open the settings. Here, you can toggle the "Call to Action" switch and input your URL and Button text.
- Compose: Click the Feather compose icon (a small quill/feather symbol) in the top-left corner of the studio toolbar to tweet the video directly from the studio with all your custom settings applied. The icon typically shows a tooltip like "Compose" or "Create post" when you hover over it.
Final Thoughts
By leveraging these professional tools, you move beyond basic tweeting and start treating your X presence like a high-end media channel. Whether it's the clean look of an embedded video or the high click-through rate of a custom Ad card, these small tweaks lead to massive growth.
Happy Tweeting!
